As a developer, we will have a day to day tasks and milestone deliveries to accomplish. Apart from the technical task, there are some additional things we can do along with our daily routine and improve ourselves

Reading

Reading is one of the excellent habits, As a developer, you should utilize the reading to get some useful information

• Every day before starting your programming task, spend some time to update yourself with latest features, updates, releases from your platform
• Subscribe and get notified about the deprecations, updates and new version releases etc
• Read the Article/Magazines from various reputed authors/websites
• Learn the new approach and solutions from the source code of others like Seniors, Team Leads or the Experts from the websites like Github, StackOverflow etc

Productivity

Being the good developer, Time management is very important quality for us

• Prioritize your work as High, Medium and Low for the day
• Plan and schedule the task for the day, week for the modules and month for the app delivery
• Use the Tools as much as you can for your day to day tasks
• Schedule an alarm for the internal review meeting, and schedule an milestone deliverables in calendar
• Using the shortcuts for the tools like IDE, Browser etc will increase the productivity
• Maintain and use the template source code instead of searching or creating new
• Do not let the distractions like Facebook, Whatsapp etc eat your time

Developer Community

• Broaden your developer community and broaden your knowledge level
• Participate in developer conference and or local meetups where you can meet lot of developers from various platform with various technology updates
• Follow the Experts in Twitter, FB etc from your platform where you can have chance to get advice quickly
• Conduct training or share your knowledge with others which makes you stronger in confidence level

Assessment

• Assess yourself even you are a trainee, developer or an expert
• Take online test from your platform in various websites like Skillgun etc
• Go through the Job Description from different job portals to know the current expectations from the companies
• If possible, try to attend the interview to get familiarize with technical/practical questions and also improves your confidence
• Attend the Hackathon and explore the career path

App Success

• Follow the best practices and approaches to develop the application
• Use the latest technologies/features and improve yourself in every project
• The app should be developed in way to adapt the changes and maintainable
• Implement Analytics and know the bad experience from users like crash
• Know the user feedback and try to reply each of them as much as you can
• Focus on what the user expectations instead of what you can give them

Checklist

Being a developer we may be experienced the critical time like app delivery with the critical timeline or major issue fixes. Since we are focused on the issue fixing, we may forget to do some other critical things to do. Thus having checklist will solve those problems.

• Prepare the checklist for important tasks like App delivery, Client email etc
• Maintaining the checklist will help you to accomplish the task without any chaos
• Update the checklist whenever you experienced new issue or forgot to do
